what size turbo

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
I'm only talking the new gen stuff....light, efficient wheels and well designed housings with great features. Stick a TIAL turbine housing on a garrett and it becomes acceptable but BW are the current king in small and mid frame turbos.

i dunno, i think Precision is shitting on anything out there at the moment. alot of racers in the drag scene are moving to Precision. don't get me wrong we run a BW S480 on our 2JZ and it's awesome especially over 34psi we were picking over 40rwhp per psi, pity we only went to 36psi :p

The new generation stuff is in a different league altogether though. So not the AirWerks series, which also look good but other options are perhaps on par, but the EFR series which is streaks ahead of anything else out there.

For a streeter or track car needing response, you'd be mad to go with anything else. new generation aerodynamics on the wheels, the alloy/Ti material is lighter and stronger than anything else out there. The integral WG design is by far the best i've seen with a good V-band housing. The comp housing has integral BOV, comes with boost solenoide already and has facility for a speed sensor...really really impressive stuff. And to top it off the prices are very competitive...add the extras that are included and i don't see anything else out there in this league?

i do like the new EFR turbo's but the thing for me is how much testing has gone into them? after a couple years if they go without any major faults then yeah i will say they are primo stuff and recommend them.

they probaly all work, if sized correctly
:)

this is true :)

I have no complaints about my current KKK TT setup and suspect an EFR 'upgrade' would only give moderate gains, therefore not worth the effort for me.

If i was starting from scratch i'd go EFR ....and must resist the temptation to tweak a setup that currently works ;)

starting from scratch i would go precision or turbonetics
smaller , lighter wheels

the new turbonetics Ti comp coming out , will flow to 5-6 p2/p1 ratios @ 78 % eff

already got the order put in...lol

a pair of 72mm turbonetics or 71mm billet precisions would be the go...
for a start anyway;)

I am VERY interested to see how durable the BW titanium-aluminide (Gamma Ti) turbine wheels will be. Go to page 43 on this PDF link: http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/prod_imgs/installation/ul/install-38.pdf

At about HALF the weight of an Inconel wheel the response from this design should be outstanding especially coupled to the cermamic dual ball bearing design with metal races (vs metal ball bearings and plastic races in the Garrett's). Compressor wheels are impressive as well. Looks like GREAT times for turbos. Prices look to be around $1500 USD with all kind of great features including beautiful investment cast stainless steel open and divided turbine housings with very nice internal gates.

Really looks to be the best combination of components with the only real concern being DURABILITY???

Compressor maps to 77% efficient at nearly 5x pressure ratio and 95lbs/min (950hp)

Aha.. Since SEMA ... I have asked about twin 9180 fitted to my Ford ..
They cannot keep up with supply...

Well it should be. But befor I could my girl got transfered. So it was a small set back. And also. Ttc. Started getting some realy bad press. So that kinda made me think twice befor I pay 3k for there rods and piston combo.

But I see lex makes a kit so I may just do that.

If I can just get the rodes and everything I can just bump the shot up untill I find the best way to boost it

You can order eagle rods to suit direct replacement
4340 steel

What will the stock pistons hold
Seems they get a little fragile around 500 rwhp..
BUT alot depends on tune, inter cooling etc etc..

One batch of crook fuel, some detonation.. Ring lands tend to break
away..
Lower compression with thicker head gaskets can help with
tuning / durability threshold also...If your using MLS gaskets ?? Chances are they are thicker than std...
The nut behind the wheel has a bit to do with it also... Lol...
I would go some forged pistons if going to the trouble of pulling engine apart...

For aroud 3k a good bottom end should do me fine. Then just do a log styl manifold. And hope for the best

Eagle rod ordered from USA....and pistons under 2000$
Lextreme rods ? And pistons ...under 2000$

Scat 4340 sj sbc rods, custom piston, crankshaft clean up on big ends ...1500$

Nice. Well in 3 months. Its goint to start. Ill get the bottom end. In. Then. I need to figur out the injector issue.

I need to get a parts list togeather. Feel free to chim in
