What does the X pipe for?

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
Nice swap!!!

An X pipe is to ballance the exhaust waves and pressure between the left and right banks of the engine. This aids in scavaging of the exhaust. If your running dual exhaust the full length, then you would benifit from having an X pipe. If you exhaust Y's into a single pipe, the there is really no need for it. Although I do know of one guy with a car that installed an X pipe on a system the Y'ed together and he did pike up a bit of power not much and it could of been other veriables too but I did here the car and there was a tone change in the car also due to the X pipe. I think that it really depends on how far back your Y junction is...
