Recently there's been a glitch in our forum software, or with our provider, that makes uploading pics to the Lextreme site more difficult.

Our webmaster is working on the problem when he has time (he's a volunteer too), but until it's sorted, here's a workaround:

1) We've found that only pics with 640x480 resolution can be uploaded; any other res seems to make the pic upload applet fail, regardless of the file size.

2) If you don't know what res your photos are, or don't know how to reduce them, AND you're using WinXP on your computer, I suggest you install a free MS applet called Image Resizer, which you can download here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe This little applet is about as easy as it gets, and lets you resize 1 or a batch of pics with only two mouse clicks.

Another way of posting pics is to upload them to a photo hosting site (personally, I use PhotoBucket.com, but there are many others.) then in your Lextreme post, link to those photos using the "Insert Image" tool from the message toolbar. You can upload and link videos in this way, too.

Linking to photos instead of uploading them to Lextreme has an advantage in that you can put comments above or below each pic to explain your pics, whereas if you simply upload photos to the Lextreme site in your thread, there's no possibility of putting comments between them.

Linking does have a disadvantage in that some people who are at work, and using corporate computers with strict IT policies may not be able to view the photos or videos as their company IT policies may block image & video hosting sites.

This is why people should buy a bit of web space from me ;-)

Boo hoo is right! Some of us are at work for 28 to 35 days, and it never seems to fail - just about the time I arrive "over here", somebody posts links to a really cool video, or pics of their build, etc., and I have to wait 4 weeks to see them.....

I do have an account on my server where people can upload pics or videos or what ever and they can be seen on the web, well i did and i can set it up again, if anyone cares i can set it all up and wright a little how too on it and maybe you can sticky it.
