Got this oil cooler for free from www.sparkracing.com Joey the owner of SR gave me this used Volvo oil cooler. This oil cooler is being use as a turbo oil cooler. Oil from the engine is enter into this cooler and goes out to the turbo. Therefore, the turbo gets cooler oil. I placed right behide the fan for now but will move up later for fresh air.

After few adapters we finally got it down to 4-AN.

hi lex, that looks alot like some motorcycle oil coolers.. i have done the same-kinda.. i have a pic somewhere, i ended up bolting it to the hydraulic fan..

i gotta get a better camara..mine suffers from blurryvision.. ha..
its hard to see, but theres a bracket that i welded on that the oil cooler is bolted to..i have removed the plastic shroud--if you guys dont recognize the fan-its from the sc400..its kinda close to the turbos, and all that air movvement helps keep everything cool under the bonnet..--ur thats what i tell everyone --ha, ha..

The SC400 has a nice sized cooler under the left front guard.

I think it's used to cool the oil for the hydraulic fan. around 6" x 4".

I once did something similar on the last car i had. It was an automatic that i converted to a manual. The auto tranny radiator had a section on the bottom for the transmission fluid. I routed the oil lines through it to cool the engine oil before getting to the turbo. I don't have a Lexus [yet] but if the auto cars have a tranny cooler built into the radiator, you could do the same. ..of course, you would have to get a manual first :)

When adding a turbocharger, the toyota v8 engine oil should be cooled. With stock oil cooling a 2jz-gte motor engine oil temp usually hoovers around 195 degrees. I would be willing to bet that turbo v8's run hotter oil temps. Almost all recent factory turbocharged cars have oil cooling. Heck the 2uz oil is cooled via engine coolant. The only downside to using factory components is price. I was able to use the stock supra oil cooler on the 1uz oil filter adapter using factory parts without any modifications. Although i'm not sure if the stock coolant system could handle the added load.
