Hi Alan, I use a transmission controller which I built for my own use. I have a 20mm (high) x 10mm (wide) red LED 7 segment display that tells you the gear the transmission is in. The controller allows tiptronic control via paddles or switches but also has auto shift control mode for true auto control. I'm running an A341E, but any auto with up to six solenoids can be controlled. Inputs are:- shift position switch, paddles, auto/manual selection switch, transmission speed sensor, seperate map sensor and kickdow switch, Outputs are solenoids. The controller does what I want it to do and I can remotely reflash it with an update to the control software if needed. Describing the software functionality would take quite a while but it has lin pressure control to soften down shifts, overspped down shift protection so you can't select low gears when your going too fast... ect...If you are interested I could strip the unit down to just display the gear from input taken off the shift position switch. Regards Ivan
