There are 2 cam timing marks on the back plate

Can anyone help me on this? One of the timing marks is noted with a "T"(I assume this is TDC), however the cams were lined up at a mark "before" the "T" mark when I removed the belt. Can anyone confirm which is the correct mark on the VVTI - '98 LS 400? Thanks in advance, although you're probably in bed now if you live in Australia
