Hi All,
After looking into using 2jzgte exhaust valves in my 1uz-fe build up
I noted the the exhaust valves are longer(as the lextreme site shows)but looking a little further I have noticed that the supra buckets are thinner so the use of the supra valves will be an easy up-grade with the matching bucket.
Hope this is of interest. Darren .

I really dont think changing the bucket would work. GTE valves are 1/4" longer and there is no way the bucket will compensate for that. However, if you can regrind the cams that might work, but the valves might interfer with the pistons.

regrinding cams to change the base circle on bucket type heads is a bad idea

I am up-grading the exhaust valves only for three reasons 1.. the exhaust valve suffers from the most thermal stress. 2 ... I think the most improvement in a F.I
will come for the exhaust side. 3. cost . The supra exhaust valves are 2.083 mm longer and the supra bucket is 2.? thinner, so it does work on the exhaust.I have a full set of spare supra valve gear, but am using new exhaust valves ,performance springs ,Ivan tighe billet cams similar to kelford 207-t2 .In the bottom a set of 8.5 comp. Ross pistons .Arp Rod bolts and ACL race series bearings.Outside a GT4245 turbo .Sm2 Autronic. The idea of have a set of bodgee cams to suit the valves does not appeal. Darren

Sounds like a nice package. I have never done the Supra Valve, so i am just giving you what i have seen. However, your project sounds very interesting and love to see more. How much hp are you looking for? GT42 is rated at 900-1000 hp.

At the moment the gt4245 is on the 2jzgte and is producing 440 rwkw, so was looking to run much the same HP but with more mid-range and quicker spool up.
