Studs Vs. Bolts

I always thought the 1UZ main bolts were elastic and had to be replaced.

I also didn't know ARP made replacement studs for them.

Can you tell us what the ARP's cost?

Does this mean we have a 4 bolt 2 stud bottom end and not a 6 bolt bottom end?
 
1UZ have 4 studs and 2 bolts per main cap, 3UZ have 6 bolts per main cap. Yes, this suprise me too. This is an accidental finding, but very useful From what i have been finding out between the two engines, the 1uzfe is way superior and better quality than the new version. Lexus really put in lots of money and effort on the first generation and start to slack off later on. PM me for the ARP main studs.

I dont remember for the 1uz, but the 3uz bolts doesnt have washer on the bolt. Is that common? Personally upgrading to ARP Studs are not neccessary unless you plan to make mega hp. You u can change it (All 6 Studs) for bragging rights.
