Lucky for me, on sunday, I turned this,

So, up she went.

In she goes,

And BAM! She's in!

Plenty of brake booster and clutch master clearance

I even have aircon box clearance!

Maybe one could squeeze a decent zorst down there!

Sump is clear of crossmember

Gearbox crossmember installed

ALMOST bolts up, would just have to slot some holes.

Clearance for a fan/thermo's is looking good.

Question is, will the bonnet close?

She looks tight doesnt she?

Bonnets on, but won't latch down

Well, doesn't look like manifold is stopping it, will have to investigate further.

Since the sump has no oil pickup in it, I'm a bit hesitant about starting it!!

Hehe, nah, the install was just to test the mounts, and to make sure everything fits.

just rejig your engine mounts about 6-7mm forward to line up with the gearbox holes.

Gearbox has been resprayed to be that shiny, as has intake manifold.
Cam covers were actually that clean when I bought the motor (almost).
I'd say its been stored in a front cut for most of the time, so hasn't built up any oxidisation.

The gearbox looked like this when I started though

I may move the motor forward, I'll have to see how the oil filter and headers go first.

I agree with mycar, damm fine effort, i would also say a heap of effort has gone into the planning stage, i find 10 hours planning is equal to 2 hours doing, but i would rather plan, than have to redo over and over , i wish my project could move that fast well done !!! must be a good feeling seeing it sitting in there
