i was thinking and would like to know the main diffs. between the 300 and the 400, and what all i would need to swap the 1uz in to the 300 to see if that be a cheaper way to have a manule?

basically, the difference is the 1uz in an sc400, vs the sc300 having a 2jz.
If i am correct, you mean "manual", as in transmission? the sc4 never came with a manual option. you can get the good bits from somebody for converting the 2jz into a manual (presuming it's auto). with the 1uz, you will need an adapter plate, which adds more to the expense.
not sure why you would want a 1uz, as the 2jz is a good motor (with greater aftermarket supply); many sc400 guys swap from the v8 to the i6 for this very reason.
If you really want to pursue this swap, I would suggest getting on club lexus, and finding what is involved with the 1uz to 2jz swaps. the swap from 2jz to 1uz will be very similar (with uz parts, instead of jz parts).
Hope that was sufficient.

thank, i been doing some more searching and have found the the cost side between putting a 1uz in a 300 to manual conversion on a 400 is about the same.

and the reason is that i want the v8 but i found a deal on a 300 that has a bad motor, and in thinking it over its easier to do the manual swap with fewer wiring issues

Put a 1UZ in along with a supercharger and the manual tranny. That'll be really nice and kicking ass. I believe the SC3 and SC4 have the same subframes (because they use same suspension), so swapping 1UZ into the SC3 won't be too hard.

Check with member RedPhoenix. He has a SC4 with W58 SC3 manual.
