I just spoke with S&S Headers owner/designer Mr. Loren Barnes.

There has been NO reported failures/cracking of the current Lexus V8 headers.

The first run of headers, aproximately 30 sets, tended to have tubing cracks develop after several thousand miles of use. This resulted in S&S changing both the steel tubing thickness and welding pattern.

Original tubing thickness was 16 gauge = 0.065 inch tubing wall thickness

Upgrade/current design is 14 gauge = 0.083 inch tubing wall thickness

This is an increase in tubing thickness of 28%

So how much are they? And where can you purchase them?

$660 with ceramic coating

Keep in mind although these will physically bolt up to your engine and fit in the frame you will need to create custom downpipes and or cats to make them work. I am NOT sure what year Lexus went to the larger 3 bolt flange on the LS400 whether it was in 95 or in 98 (98+ are larger pattern).

These were designed as a direct bolt in for the 98-2000 GS400 and they are a bolt in for the 2001-2005 GS430, SC430 and LS430 with the 3uzfe engines as all those cars use the same factory exhaust manifolds.

Any other Lexus (with the possibility of the 2006 and later 3uzfe engines being a direct fit) will require some degree of customization.
