R154 box in JZA80, speedo...

Hey does anyone have a clue on how to get the speedo working? haha cheers!

as I done that:
what is needed:
******a340 eletric speedo sensor
******r154 non-eletric speedo sensor
1. remove botch speedo shafts
2. cut about 13 mm r154 speedo shaft
3. make paraler cut that shaft for about 10 mm from end (that is needed for slide it and engage inside a340 speedo sensor housing
4. put cuted r154 speedo shaft into a340 speedo assembly
almost done:
now must make sleeve that will hold smaller a340 speedo housing in place bigger r154 hole. that sleew must have outside diameter as r154 speedo housing and inner diameter as a340 housing. On outside make grove for stock r154 speedo sensor o-ring. O-ring from a340 will seal inner diameter.

Thanks jerry, thats certainly one way to do it! I am looking at the Marlin Crawler solution at the moment, its a screw on connector with 3 wire output.

I read the communication you had with Marlin, not good. If you have not solved your problem with your speed sender I found the senders from from late model Toyota Prados and Landcruisers will fit a r154 gearbox and W58 as well. They go straight in and instead of a clip holding them in they use a bolt, so easy. They use the same three pin plug to connect to the harness

I couldnt get them to take my order... they just never replied.

Justen GT8 came to the rescue and sent me the plug which screwed straight on, very happy! All working perfectly. I think its the same part you are talking about actually. Cheers for the info too.
