Hi All,

Sorry about the delay but I only just got around to updating my web site with the pics of the conrod that broke in my engine.

if you goto http://www.marxmotorsport.com
click News
then click the update for the 14 Feb 2005

The page that opens up shows pics of the broken rod (and the various bits).

No the rods were not prepared in any way, and were still using the factory rod bolts. This engine was completely stock internally and was pulling around 7800 - 7900 rpm.

The engine was just a replacement while I am waiting for the proper race engine to be finished. The race engine will have the bearing gaps set properly and use LS1 Chev ARP rod bolts.

Anybody interested in a Group Buy on Rods?

Well if I use a std one again it won't be over 7500 thats for real.
Unfortunatly we knew we had to push the engine as hard as what we did because I am up against 400+hp engines.
...but it still performed really well for what it was.

Hey Dude,

With that Chev Rod, did you have to have it machined to fit?
Does it work with the standard piston to get the same deck height or have you also had to buy some after market pistons?

I can only run a maximum of 10:1 compression.

Cheers
-Phil
