its a 1993 Lexus SC400 with 137000k. i bought the car for 5300$ knowing it would be a bit rough, but i was willing to work with it. i already put up an exhaust, and wanted just a bit more, so i bought the injen intake. injen doesnt have a photo of the intake on the 1UZ-FE motor on their site, so i figured some people might be curious as to what it looks like on the motor, so here you go! some weight watchers style before and after pics for your pleasure-

Good Job on cleaning that engine compartment...Looking good!! Always great to see a guy take pride in his ride, especially a SC.

If you do a little research on www.planetsoarer.com, you will find that after market pod type filters actually hinder performance.

Possible reasons are that:
1) the intake resonator is designed to perfection
2) Pod type snorkels inhale too much heat from the engine bay

Due to my being in the military and being in a place that does not offer the resources or the facilities to do such a mod (which i was well aware of prior to buying and installing this intake), i put this intake in because i simply cannot do the BFI mod. also, this looks much more attractive, and is more of a personal preference issue than pure performance.
