Miss at low revs - Ended up being one spark plug burned out??? what would cause this?

Had a a miss start in the 4runner last week. It was mainly at lower revs, and would sometimes clean up at higher revs. I kept driving it hoping that it was just a sh!tty bit of fuel, but it never got better. Ended up checking the plugs, and one of them was burnt out. Swapped a new one in and it's all good now.

They were platnum plugs and new ones were installed approx. 3-4 months ago.

Just wondering if there could be a problem with something else? as I can't understand why just one plug would burn out?

Any info or ideas would be great.

Would it be possible that one of you injectors was not working and cause a lean in one of the cylinder and burn your spark plug out?
