I'm planning on running a Microtech unit on my 1uz.

All the wiring is cut, and the stock coils and ignitors are gone. Is it still possible to use the stock distributors with Microtech ignitor and coils?

How about the pickup on the crank (cam)? Does it need to be modified?

I have found so many diffrent opinions on this.

I will rewire the whole engine. Remove all useless senosors and elctronics.

Thanks!

Nothing needs to be custom
Nothing needs to be changed.
If you don't have the factory ignitors you can use Bosch 124's or Bosch 008's.
I used 008's.

Microtech uses factory crank angle sensor, passenger side cam angle sensor, TPS, temp sensor. You wire up injectors as per factory (4 lots of 2).
o2 sensor is optional but not required.
Air Temp sensor is optional too. I used a Delco one from a Camira.

I have an LT8S because the LT10S wasn't released when I got mine.

Wire it up, turn the key, go for a drive.
Mine turned 200rwhp on the base map Microtech provide.
You can leave it untuned for as long as you like, but it drinks more, and isn't the nicest to drive. Driveability went up 10 fold after a couple of hours of tuning the sub 3500rpm mark.

If its not running right, then its probably not wired right. Microtechs selfcheck will tell you if any sensors are stuffed.
Get the injectors cleaned too. Mine went from about 50rwhp to 200rwhp after they were cleaned.

Any more q's you have just ask. Mines been running about a year.

Oh, the stock coils work fine too.
But I'd assume any coils can be used, the stock ones just fit nicely.

I'd also presume you can use 4 coils in a wasted spark setup with 4 ignitors if you get Microtech to program it like this.

Is it possible to run it dwitout the dizzy's?

I've earlier installed several Microtech's on Nissan engines. (ca18det and sr20det) But I have no experience with dizzy setup.

Is ignitor the same as power transistor?
When using lt10s that has the ignition module, the power transistor has to be removed on Nissan engines.

Can the ltx units be used, that has coils it's own coils?

Sorry for all the questions....

You can run it without the dizzy's, but as I stated above you'll have to convert it to wasted spark like the commie V6, 7mgte, etc (one coil per 2 cyls).

I'm not sure what you mean by 'power transistor'. I've never seen that word used around Toyota motors. But its quite possible that it has a meaning in Toyota language.

Ignitor is basically the thing that controls the coil.
The ECU tells the ignitor when to fire the coil.

I believe you can use the Microtech Ignitor, but I've had no experience with it so cannot say. Best give a dealer a call.
This is the new ignitor

The X in Microtech codes (LTX8) just means 'inbuilt ignitors' which they phased out about 18months ago.
