Melling 3uz sleeves

Melling is making sleeves for the 3uzfe.

Wonder about boring out a 1uz to run these sleeves with Davids stroker kit?

I spoke to Darton Sleeves Rep. and he said he already has the sleeves for the Lexus IS-F, which look huge, and he also said he can make a set for the 1UZ for around $1200. I think that's not too bad a set of 8 sleeves.

Actually Lexus reduced the sleeve thickness starting with IIRC 4mm for the 1990-1994 or possibly 1997 then dropping to 2mm thickness for 1998-2000 and for the 3uzfe down again IIRC to 1.5mm. While the 4mm sleeves are good to 1000+ hp my guess is the later versions may not be.

The first gen engine has the strongest block, crank, rods and pistons.

Melling does not list details on their sleeves. They are probably thicker than the stock 1.5mm. The darton sleeves are probably much thicker but require boring out the entire cylinder casting down to the water passages creating a "wet" sleeve. The Melling parts look to be usable as a "dry" sleeve.

I'd love to see any 1UZFE owner putting these sleeves on. +1000 hp is for sure.
