Inlet Manifold

Can anyone help me ??
I have a V8 Soarer and last weekend pulled the Inlet manifold off.
Looking fom the front of the engine, there is a hole in the back of the manifold/ plenum, right hand side.
It's oval shaped with two threaded holes each side.
It looks to be part of the polution gear.
If anyone knows what should be there could they please advise me.

Nothing!

That's part of the EGR used in the States.

Don't worry it doesn't go anywhere or let air into the plenum. Disregard it.

Well,
I didn't think it could have been much because i have been driving the car like this for the past three and a half years.
Are all the heads like that ?
My car was brought over direct from Japan and i'm the first owner.

They're all like that.

Only the Californian version (to my knowledge) has the EGR fitted.

Hey ZUFFEN,

I seem to recall a similar question asked of this hole some time ago. I recall it was on a LEXTREME Trike and it took a while to source an answer! I am glad you have this site in your favorites and make such a pasion for knowledge of the 1UZFE your hobby. I am sure I could not get to where I am now without this site.
