If you are planning on putting a 1uz into a HQ/WB you mite fined the alternator hits the steering box, more so with a power steering. You can cut into the heater/air con box moving the motor close to the firewall. Another option is a Rack and Pinion conversion. With this in mined here is a Link to a new Power Steering Rack. I haven't seen one on a car but look like the way to go. Its bolt on with no cross member mods needed. http://www.blacksracks.com.au/
