Hi-lux box

would it be possible to use the hi-lux box in the sc400 ?
cant get an r154 for decent money, was supposed to be getting a getrag 265, but the seller pulled out.
just looking for something to manualise it while i save for an RB25DET gearbox

We generally use the remote shift W58 box which work really well in soarers. Cheers

must de different boxes as over here they are used alot and ive yet to see one break, a tuner i know used one in his car and was running 650 bhp and was very hard on it, and never managed to damage it, its still running nearly 9 years later !

there is a stronger box they use on the rb25t and 300 zxtt

these boxes are massive and internals are like a gtr rb26tt 4wd box but they are 2wd

they guys here where my shop is recon the r154 is a tad stronger than the big rb25t box so when u look at price of converting the nissan box to the toyota its not worth it
they have been selling both these boxes and engines for over 2 decades so they should know

they wont be different, he will have had bigger bearings put into it at some point. This happens all the time time, some guy will have a g/box uprated, it lasts, and he tells everyone, everyone else thinks that type of g/box is actually good, it's not the g/box, it's the modifications that are holding out, all the while they fellows laughing his arse off at the price increase of the g/boxes in his local market and all the muppets that are paying to much for them

actually, found out there are 2 different boxes a large casing and small casing one, you must get the small casing one over there

the reason we have the small weaker rb boxes here is because the bigger ones are 2000 dollars
now 90% of guys who waste money on cars wont spend that money

they are only about £500 over here, so about $900, which is a good price. especially since they are eaier to get than R154

i just picked up an R154 for £100 about 190 bucks !

im very pleased !
