I am Gerhard from Pretoria in sunny South Africa. (Sien daar is 'n hele paar boere hier)

I have a 1998 Rord Rancehero pickup with the 4l staight six motor. Waiting for a 1UZ-VVT and auto box to arive. I will start a thread once I have started with the conversion but any advice in the meantime will be appresiated.

Hey this is going to be a nice conversion!

I really love the Ford Ranchero! I learnt driving in a V8 one many moons ago. It was a real handful for a novice!

This is not the old Ranchero but the late 1990 model. The pickup version of the Falcon. Don't think they where imported to SA with the V8 motors but only with the 4.0l straight six.

I am still waiting for the motor and box. Apparently it is sitting in Durban docks.

Where are you buying the motor from?

I know Engine Den has a lot in stock if your in a hurry.

XR8tt - Really don't know. I have never opended the motor. Think it is a SOHC.

hiluxfan- With the current motor (150kw) the verchile is verry strong. Think it is going to be a wild thing with the extra 60+ Kw. I am going to leave the diff as is. Don't want a higher topend.
