help please

new to the forum, but need help, i'm getting a foul odor coming from the vents when i turn the fan on a 95 ls 400

Sounds like possible ac problem...

Define the oder? If it's sulfer, you're overheating the cat & probably burning fuel in it.
Oil, gas & coolant smells are self-explainitory.
Condensation in the vent system will cause mold to grow & a stale moldy smell.
The old Lexus/Toyota A/C Expansion valves are pretty bad to stick. That'll cause the A/C to not work, or work poorly, which can also eventually lead to mold growing in there.

Try replacing the AC air filter.

If it smells kind of like stink feet (or synthetic stink feet), it might be your evap.

Any auto parts store should have anti-mold spray for ac vents. Have not tried it yet but it is not expensive, see if that helps.

In that case, you need to disinfect the system until the mold is dead & gone. Afterwards put in a new filter. Keep in mine, breathing in mold is a health issue. So in that case a filter goes last after the problem is fixed.

Good luck with it! It can be pretty annoying & take awhile.
