Head bolts

Where is the best place to get head bolts for the 1UZ from? I don't need anything special. Just OEM quality would do fine. This isn't going to be a race motor or anything, just a daily beater. What is the expected cost on the bolts?

I think you will find Lextreme's ARP offer will be much cheaper than OEM.

the head bolts run around $350 for the studs + nuts. I dont know dealer price but I have heard is more then the ARP!

Ok, just unbolted driver side head (hardest 1st) with the header AND the cat. The whole 3 piece unit has lots of room but until the steering column is removed i cant get it out. Err, its rather the 2 bolt joint that connects steering shaft to R&P.

You'll find it much easier in the long run to remove the header from the head before trying to lift it out.

Thanks Zuffen. The passenger side is cake... head + header + cat + PS pump all out in one piece. The driver side is harder w/ the steering shaft but I might just play w/ the head positions and get access to the lower bolts.
