Hi

I own a HZ Ute with a 1UZFE in it. I do a lot of traveling and sometime it is hard to find premium unleaded. My question is will normal unleaded have any effects on the engine apart from less performance and less economy?

No the engine will live quite happilly on lower octane fuel, albeit at lower power.

The engines knock snsors will back down the timing to stop it detonating.

And yes you will lose alittle economy. You will save more in fuel costs than it costs you in lost economy.
