flushing out the coolant passages

So i bought my motor and i guess the previous owner left some antifreeze in the motor and it was sitting for 3 years. well all that antifreeze dried up leaving huge chunks of crap everywhere. so far i have gotten as much as i could out, i even changed the pump, but im not quite sure if i got it all. what is the best way to handle this? i dont have a radiator on the motor atm, could i just purchase one of those radiator flush kits and run hoses to a bucket of water to clean this motor out? i dont want to clog my brand new rad.

using a pressure flush gun thats connected to air compressor.Take out the thermostat and flush from the top hose.When you have the t/stat out put some sort of bung or even jam ya fingers in the centre hole in the housing(bypass port).Otherwise you will lose alot of force through the bypass instead of passing through the actually engine block.
