Electrical help - over charging?

My new battery seeps acid when the car has been running for about 30 mins and its warm outside.

Does anyone know if the alternator could be overcharging the battery?

is there anyway i can check this? (with a multimeter perhaps?)

It is not likely a charging problem, but a battery problem. Over filling it will do that. So will a sulfated battery. So will overheating it.
