These rods finally came in today from www.atomicspeedware.com and they are beautiful. Eagle ESP 3D H Beam rods are the best rods for the money. They are not the best money can buy, but for about $500 no other rods come close. I also ordered the upgrade ARP L-19 Rod bolts. This combo is rated at 1,200 bhp. I am very excited about this mod. I also got some performance rod bearings from Levitte

This rod is going to be used in combo with the new forged pistons that Lextreme has a group buy on

Do these rods require the crank to be machined?

I'm looking for a rod and piston setup that won't require machining the crank. Though if I have to, I suppose a knife edging and micropolishing would be in order. :)

Myself and many others have been trying to search for a no mods to the crank and i have found one car has the same BE as the UZ, but its not too popular and hard to get supporting parts. So, i decided to go with something universal and have massive supporting parts.

Rod Part Number

Hi Dave,

I am interested in modifing my Forged Group Purchase Pistons and use Chevy Rods.

Do you have a part number for the Eagle Rods pictured above?

Is it:
CRS5700B3D
or
CRS5700S3D

These are part numbers from the Eagle web site.

Cheers,
Nath

CRS5700S3D Its the small journal. 5700B3D has large journal and its too big. S3D cost little more and it not as popular as the B3D. The B3D is the Chevy 350 rods, S3D is the 327 Rods. Contact Atomicspeedware and tell Nick that I refer you and he will give u the best price.

Thanks David,

Have sent him an email and will send out some to the locals here in Sydney to get a local price. It might be easier to save the hassel of importing the rods.

I'll see how it goes.

Hard part for me is finding an engine builder who will understand what we're doing, most will but just a pain to have to explain it all out.

Nath,

There's a brilliant machinist (one man band) in Hornsby who can make just about anything.

He specialises in making parts for historic race cars and will work for you if it's a job the local machine shop can't tackle.

If you're intrested speak to Crawford on 9476 2477 and tell him I sent you.

Hey, I just had a light bulb moment with this setup David.

If we have to narrow the Chevy rods down so the two can share the one jurnal, you'll need to do the same for the bearings right? How is this done?
