hey guys im switching to either a haltech or autronic and have a 1u + auto trans from sc400, and tranmission is conrtolled via ecu so wondering when i cange ecu, how do i controll transmission?

cheers

y not get a wolf or some new late model aftermarket ecu that can do auto too
just do yr research as im not sur ehow good they are for autos

or buy a haltech for engine and another aftermnarket ecu for yr auto
they range from 500 to 1500 for them just for the auto

or buy a manual shift unit that works of yr inhibiotr wiring on the box
which ever gear the gearshift is in thats the gear u will have
there is no auto changing full manual shift using shifter
they are pretty cheap

how much do u want to spend
haltech is around 1300 to 1500
autronic is 1700 to 2400 depending on model
wolf 500 is 2100
auto ecu is say 700 to 800

I think the easiest and cheapest way is to run the stock SC400 ECU to control the stock SC400 auto tranny. Then you can run a piggyback ECU to control other fuel or maybe with ignition.

y not get a wolf ...
I made enquiries to wolf about getting a v500 to run engine+trans. They didn't bother getting back to me. So either they can't actually do it (trans control) or the customer service is sh1t or both. So wolf was crossed off my shopping list.
I have a PCS tcu waiting to be intalled when the lpg is done.

replacing with autronic sm4 or haltech platnium 2000 so no stock ecu,

im very interested in these fully manualised kits anyone have a link?

thanks guys

kool im running a B&M megashifter aswell if that makes a difference, can you just get a new manualised valve body and ditch the electronics?

probabbly but yr best of talking to an auto specialist
std auto needs bpoth hydraulics and electrics to get all gears

kool, what did that cost if you dont mind me asking? im trying to toss up cost with stock auto or ditchin for the CRS TH400 adapter and running one.

hey ftrucking
i just sent absaic auto shift unit to guy in perth

this plugs into his auto
and will select the gear that yr shifter is in
so if yr shifter is in 1st u get 1st 2nd u get 2nd d u get 3rd and press yr over dirve button and u get overdrive

very basic setup and its just afew wires to connect under dash to get to work

i would be very interested in a unit like this, do you make them? and no auto trans eu required just this unit?

thanks

yes i make them

do u have any wiring for the auto
as i need the plugs for yr auto and i wire them up to my setup

u dont need any auto ecu

all u need is the factory inhibitor setup on side of auto
my unit wil lplug into yr inhibitor and the solenoid plug

then there is 5 or so wires to hook up under dash where it sits

email me on

[email protected]

if yr interested

thanks

jim

Hey Hypronet... noticed you swapped out the stock ls400 shifter. How easy was it to hook up? I always thought a B&M pistol grip shifter would be badass. Wiring up Adaptronic full standalone in a week or so, anyone know if these units easily run auto-trans? I too want stock ECU for trans and standalone for engine, unless i can tune some quicker shifts out of it through tuning?

Hey guys,
Does anyone have diagrams for wiring up Cressida auto ect to crown v8 auto? I want to run Wolf 3D vers 4 on engine

since when does a cressida run an auto ect
cressidas with 7m run all in one engine auto ecus
unless u mean a 7mgte auto ecu

ive done it with 7mgte and its very fiddly
the auto ecu has 3 wires from the engine to the auto ecu
each one of these wires has a signal at seperate positions of the throttle
which it sends from the engine to the auto ecu
now u need either a tps of a 1gg early non turbo which has 5 or 6 wires
blooooody rare
or u need 4 outputs on the wolf purely for these signal
we did it with an ems 8860
its very difficult to get it perfect
if your going to throw money on a wolf then throw some more towards
an aftermarket ecu for the auto
much less hassles
if u have time and experience to work it out then it can be done if yr wolf has 4 outputs
if not save the hassle and spend a bit more money on a programmable auto
ecu

a341e crown auto

Hey sideshow,
The ECT I have is from 5mge powered cressida and is definitely seperate from the engine ECT Unfortunatley its at the workshop so I can't give you the part # but I will post it when I have it. I believe it's from '88 model

cool
im not sure on the 5mge ecus
dont really play with stuff that old
so part numbers will mean jack shit to me
i try to memorise wiring and colours not part numbers hehehehehhe
best thing is to get wiring diagrams and try it
its not the proper way to do it but u can always try it

the hard thing might be replicating correct speed signals
and also the throttle signals
changing gears up is easy getting it to kick down is the pain part

PCS can switch between full auto & manual shifting on the fly

Great tranny controller, PCS. I went with it because I can control the tranny in many differrent ways....As stated, I can shift on the fly between manual and auto via e-shift, I can control the harshness of the shifting based upon load so that I get a much smoother and softer shift when driving it normally.

I have not seen one that can really do both either. I went with the SM4 and the PCS.
