code 12

i have had a number of codes from my 1uzfe/hilux. code 12 relates to rpm signal, i was advised to recheck the cam timing. cam timing is fine. we checked ignition timing and found it was only running about 4 degrees. when the engine is revved the timing actually retarded further to mayby 2 or 3 degrees btdc. any ideas.

I would triple check cam timing
Code 13 is 99% cam timing so not sure code 12 means
Same thing but other cam sensor
But Ive had afew guys say cam timing is ok but it's out
Otherwise maybe a sensor as i think code 12 means rpm prob
