Quick question: When I am removing the journal bolts that hold the camshaft in place, can I remove the journals one at a time without removing the timing belt from the camshaft? I am attempting to remove the bolts one journal at a time to keep the cam in place while the timing belt is still on the camshaft in order to inspect the journals, however the bolts are on soooooo TIGHT that I have cracked 3 different 10mm sockets trying to remove.

Anyother time I would figure you can remove one journal at a time with the timing belt on the shaft still.

You need some cloth hangers to hold the cam pulley with timing belt together. Make sure u have enough tension to the belt so it would move. Secondly, mark the belt and pulley position. Yes, you can change cams without touching the timing belt.
