I have a 1uz from a 95-97 ls401 with the standard 30-41LE 3500 50050 auto in my 4runner. First it started to shudder when I accelerated then I lost drive in all the gears yesterday so I pulled over and shut the car down. After about 5 minutes I got going again only to get 100m down the road and it happened all over again. But it wouldn't move at all, checked and topped up the fluids, still didnt move, started a whining noise like and oil pump not getting any fluid but only in park and nuetral. Dropped the pan out cleaned the strainer, quite dirty put it all back together again with fresh fluid. It then worked and I drove around for about 10kms only for it to do the same thing.
Am just about to drain and clean again, but is it a waste of time? Anyone know what else maybe wrong?
