A/C noise

There is a whale like noise coming from the a/c compressor when i turn it on. Aside from the noise it works great. Is this repairable?

Sounds like your AC clutch is gone.... I am not sure if you can get the clutch byself, but changing it takes some skill.

More than likely you have a bad compressor

Keep a eye(ear?) on it.It Sounds like dodgey bearings inside the compressor.Get a new one or a rebuilt one be for it dies.It may sieze and/or put shavings through your system which means you may have to replace the condensor,reicever/dryer etc etc untill all metal shavings are removed.
