Good day, I want to buy my neighbors nissan patrol 4.8 because it's in mint condition and and hasn't been driven in a long time. Me (a 19yo with a very basic salary) thought it would be a great I dea to buy this car since they don't want it and it fits my needs and activities. However the one problem it has and is also the reason they are selling it is because it eats way to much petrol.
That's why I've looked for engine's to swap into the patrol but have came up with very few options that could work, but all have comprises.
The 3 options being , a lexus 4gr, nissan vq35, nissan sr20det and the lexus 1uz. At the end I chose the 1uz bc I can get it, kinda cheap and there are many mechanics around that knows their way around a 1uz, also I can get a plug and play setup for the management system.
My question is has anyone done this kind of conversion and if so please advise me to the correct part. Btw I'm on a tight budget and live in a small town, my options are quite limited and will DIY where applicable. If anyone has any advice please feel free.
