I used A1 turbo flywheel. I just got screwed up because the face was not perfectly straight and I had the most unforgiving clutch disc material available. If you are doing stock power jist instal a factory 5M clutch or a Spec stage 1 for 5MGE engine. I would buy a complete kit if I where you...

    A1 turbo flywheel machining profile

I just got a nasty surprise when I took the clutch assembly off. It appears that when I heat shrunk the ring gear on the flywheel, the flywheel slightly bent backward. The flywheel now has a groove depper on the inside than outside and show signs of heat spot. I think the clutch and pp is shot...

    Dynoed my n/a 1UZ-FE with w58 tranny

Dayco p/n 5060635 it's a 6PK1615 Fits like a glove no other mods needed except that you'll need to get rid of the stock fan clutch. No way you can tranfer enough power to turn the fan clutch because of the loss of angular contact with the belt by the pulley. Thanks both of you for the comments...

    Dynoed my n/a 1UZ-FE with w58 tranny

Here's the vid off the 3 dyno pulls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGVGRzJUJNo The muffler is a Dynomax Super Turbo for those interested. I could not be happier with the sound it makes. It's i not too loud or to quiet and it makes it sound like a 4cams engine instead of a making it sound like...

    Dynoed my n/a 1UZ-FE with w58 tranny

Thanks guys. The Hp is OK, but the best is the linear torque curve. I really enjoy the ride given that the engine as a good 300 000km on the clock and that I was able to keep the budget for the swap around 3500$ (with all manual conversion kit and a couple of nice looking parts). One thing...

    Dynoed my n/a 1UZ-FE with w58 tranny

I don't even bother going in second and 4th anymore when I'm not driving hard. When I'm playing in the traffic or cruising down I do 1-3-5 and if I want to stay quiet it's 1-4. You can go from 25mph all the way out to the maximum "which will be rev limited to about 150mph" in 5th gear without...

Hooking radiator hose on a 1UZ and using pusher fans

Thanks for the answer guys, but I solved evrything and so far it seems to work OK. Due to hose fitment and core size I had no choice to upgrade and got a deal on a almost new Koyo 3row rad from a SR20 Silvia for 280$ with a 14 inch derale fan. I havent raced the car yet and put the cooling...

For the guys using Howe TO Bearing!!

Glad you like it. I also had to have one lenghtened, but decided to go the cheap way (aka getting a rubber one) since it wasn't in any crittical area or somewere hard to access. An other bummer is that I went to that hydraulic place at least 5 times before I had every hydraulic lines the right...

For the guys using Howe TO Bearing!!

What took you so long to reply?? If you look carefully I posted that 9 months ago. I had to figure it all myself. I think I've found a very clever way to make everything fit so that the bellhousing is pretty much sealed and everything fit like OEM. 1: I found a shop that can custom made brake...

    Attention all Howe Bearing user!!

Just a quick note to tell you if you've been using the stock 82870 with the bearing inclueded you should inspect your clutch. This is what it did to mine in only 200miles. The pressure plate was brand new (Toyota 7M-GE OE pressure plate) and the bearing seamed to turn freely. The proper...

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

IT STARTED!!! It started on the second try (yesterday I tryed, but I could not get fire). It turned up to be a missing +12V from the EFI fuse I forgot to wire. It ran for a good minute. I've checked for code and there was none. I could not make it run because I did not put the radiator back and...

    Crank but does not fire

Nevermind Someone from an other board asked if I had 12V at the +B and +B1. Somehow I missed it. Plugged those two to the 15A EFI fuse and it started right away. Now it start and run properly. I have a load of stuff to do before I put it on the road, but now I know the engine will run just...

    Crank but does not fire

Well I'm stumped. After all the time I've spent to understand the wiring diagram and carefully weld every wire that needed to be; now that I'm done with all the mechanical components, I don't have fire. I've deleted a lot of wires in the harness, but those were linked to the Automatic...

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

Rad is done, wiring is 95% done, power steering is done, exhaust is being professional welded at the moment ( I did all the cuting, shaping and routing, but only tack welded the pipes together because my skills are limited). I agree that the exhaust system is far from being perfect, but I think...
