Poor FM reception

I recently replaced the antenna rod- still the original one but my FM reception is still bad. Is there a remedy? or do i have to change my radio? Thanks

What kind of car and radio( Pioneer or Nakamichi)

i have the pioneer with cd changer (which also does not work)

Check for corrosion where the mast goes into the motor assembly. If that's OK Ohm check the coax from the radio to the antenna. If that is OK then you probably need an antenna assembly
