I use to deal cars so I have a very good idea on what are some real lemons... Here is my list of the worst cars I have ever owned in order.. Feel free to list your best cars too...

1) 1991 Ford Tauras - Tranny lasted about as long as a full tank of gas.. Engine was ok but everything else was horrible... A classic lemon..

2) 1986 Ford Escort GT - Burnt more gas then oil, and broke down more then a crowd of people at a funeral..

3) The notorious older 80's V12 Jags...Oh, what A nightmare of a ride. Those cars were in the shop more then on the road.. Come to think of it most of the Brit cars are garbage, even the newer Land Rover and Range Rovers have more electric problems and oil leaks then most. I think the Brits need to lay off the Guinness when building their cars...No pun intented:tapedshut: On a positive note when the Brit cars run they are usually a very nice ride..

4) The Chevy Cavalier, Mercury Sable, Truimph, are all worthy of lemon status...

5) I never owned a Porsche but some of the older ones I hear were oil leaks and break downs waiting to happen..Like the older 914's...

Turb's I hear you on the TR7, that is pure %100 JUNK......:684:

I almost forgot about the 93-95 Izusu Rodeo's that may top the list.. A terrible truck indeed, infact, all the junk yards are flooded with them for a reason...

OK is this thread a lame duck?

48 views and only one reply...Hmmmm? Love ya turboandrew... Come on people surely you guys have owned a few lemons in your day that you want to share and warn others about, no?....

You guys are going to leave me no choice but to start another thread like "What's the ugliest girl you ever dated" (just kidding, I am done)...:tapedshut:

1994 Rover 827

It was gutless, the majority of the electrics were faulty, it handled like a big wobbly sack of poo, the interior was falling to pieces and it frequently over-heated.

To me, this car went a long way to explianing why MG-Rover is no longer.

2003 Lexus LX470

I bought it brand new.... there were big dent like marks in the seat, radio did not get any reception, and the tranny went bad after 12,000 miles.

then i bought a 2006 and it was perfect!

Man, I thought the LX470 are vantastic SUV's...My bro has one and I love it.. That is the first I have heard about these trucks having problems.. Interesting....

Off topic, but I just road in a 2002 Ford Excursion Diesel limited. It is a vantastic beast of a truck that actually gets 25-28 mpg WOW!!!!... Which is rediculous for a truck that size...Has all the bells and whistles.

I think I may get one...Bio deisel fuel is dirt cheap and up and coming, I think diesel cars and trucks are the way too go... They last longer too...

Diesel fuel per gallon $2.95
Regular fuel per gallon $3.50
Bio Deisel fuel per gallong $ .70

didn't own one, but my grandfather bought my youngest aunt one.
the original sunfire/cavy's...
you had to drop the engine to change the plugs. and that was back when most entry cars didn't come with so much as platinum plugs lmao!
autolite copper FTW, for 20,000 miles... lmao!!!!!!!!

ugh, mine have been reliable except for this ES 300, which isn't the car's fault. A tiny bit is mine & the vast majority was 70,000 miles of sporradic oil changes at best AFA maint goes.

1988 Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) Group A Walkinshaw.

If it could fall off it did, if it could fail it did, if it should lock it didn't.

A camshaft failed at 2,500kms followind by a transmission, diff and lots of fibreglass falling off. We used push start it more often than not as it didn't like starting.

It only cost $49,000 in 1988! My house was only worth 3 times that! Glad the company I worked for owned it and not me.

The worst car in my whole life and I've driven lots of crap cars when I was younger.

1994 Integra GSR... bought un tuned fully built motor, yet headgasket lifted because idiot didnt torque to specs.... paid 2800, sold as is on ebay listing the problems for 5500, wouldnt say the worst because I did profit from the situation! :)

Ford Probe GT (1993) Replaced everything under the hood. rear calipers like to fail, disk brakes like to wabble, engine mounts are soft as chocolate, door panels doesn't like to be used to close the door, etc etc etc. that little 2.5 DOHC offered good performances, but in winter gas mileage was horrible (16-17L/100km for 164HP)

another one was a 1996 Grand-Am SE, with the 3.1 Gas hog, bushing and engine mount eater. A/C ??? (tought it was only a sticker) electric windows, ABS tries to kill you on slippery surface etc etc etc...

the best car i've got was a 1989 Mazda 323. you can't beat that car, it always wants to run. I bought it for off-roading with my friends, finally i plated it and used it as a winter beater because off-roading was not enough to kill it.

Quebec -

I had a Ford Probe GT 1993 too, man it was a heap.... I only had it for a few months and unloaded it quick and cheap...

I also had a 80's Mazda 323 but I actually experienced a bit of throuble with that car...The tranny went out at 100,000 miles...

I would also have to say the 1993-1995 Nissan 300zx twin turbo's were a bit trouble some with the cronic over heating problems with their turbo's...I am sure the turbo'd VR4 Mits fall into that same catagory... However they were a blast to drive... They handled well and when the boost came on they were pretty quick..

Maintenance too was very difficult and expensive on those cars... I owned a bunch of those 300zx twins and always sold them as fast as I could because of the boost always going out in one or both of the turbo's...

Got to rate it as a lemon.....

Needless to say the Geo Metro 3 bangers were big trouble, and remember those Suzuki Samuri's?....

79 4cyl auto commodore wagon. no balls, no style, but was reliable I suppose - you could rely on it clogging the fuel filter once a week, the diff needing oil once a week, radiator needing water once a week... etc. It was a mobile service machine!

being a huge datsun and mazda nut, my worst was an RX3.

rebuilt a hundred times, with each rebuild there were 10 more problems.

needed a new engine and box after i bought it, then the calipers seized, then the diff seals started to leak which leaked onto the wheel at speed which flicked boiling hot and stinking diff oil all over my brand new 2pak paintjob - on a 400klm round trip...

found out the doofus had put the diff seals in backwards and now the rear drums needed disassembling and servicing and the rear wheel bearings had melted and the diff needed removing and the collars machined and sleeved for new bearings.

finally the alternator died and overcharged the whole system, blowing everything from lightbulbs, to the wiper motor, to my new MP3 player, to the dash bulbs .... oh and did i mention it made my battery boil which again pissed acid out all over my brand new, smoothed engine bay with white 2pak paint?

yes, what a troll of a car.

sold it to a student for $6500.

apparently, the car runs great now.

yeh the LX is a great SUV.... well its the only kind of SUV i've bought since 1999. I've had 4 LX470s so far (1999, 2001,2003,2006) and i love it! but i just couldnt figure out why my 2003 had a problem. I got a new one tho! :006:

NNOOOO,dont wanna here it!!

Worst car ive owned was called the Boonga,UC torana originaly had a starfire(misfire, bushfire neverfire)but i put a 202 6cyl in it,was cream with primer roof and boot lid, looked like poo with 14 inch kidney bean mags on it,sloppy rear diif bushes and even more backlash in the diff, could never ever ever get a smooth gear change.carb had air leaks so it popped on deaccelaration etc etc etc.But reliable!!!

i have had a couple :tapedshut:**** boxs 89 mazda 323 used more oil than fuel $20 on fuel $30 on oil but it was fun to thrash through the bush:happysad:...............next was an 87 vl poo box commodore the amount of crankangle sensors that went in to that thing but it was good on fuel.

It was very funny when i bought it it had a worn out p/s belt that use to whistle like a big fat blower was bolted to it.:werd:

Let all my mates think it was super charged for a week or so:006: ................just rememberd being an auto it had this big lag in 1st from take off it was funny.
no one talked to me for a day or 2 after that :argue: .

best car i ever had 1976 yes a 76 hilux single cab 2wd it was great had no top end but the box was setup for bottom end what fun burnouts this thing could smoke up a brand new set of 295x75x16r with out more than a second thought i miss that beast :sgrin:
