i was putting a 1uzfe into a hilux but after having to modify every single thing to make it work i came to the conclusion that if was guna do all this work i wanted to have something that would spin my wheels and the cars wheels better than a ute so i rolled off the cover of my ford mk 1 escort coupe,trieed to shoehorn in the v8 and have my dream car.so far i have removed enough of the tunnel and firewall,pretty much all of it lol to get the motor right back.i had to move the steering a little were it goes through the firewall and recess the pedal box back 100mm.the motor i have is stuffed so is just a dummy for now.my geustion is when buying a new motor should i fork out a little more for a vvti half cut with all security gear or just buy the earlier motor,im assuming if i went vvti i would need to adapt the go pedal to my pedal box to work the fly by wire,what do you guys reckon
 
VVti is always my choice. Why do you need to modify the pedal? Are you thinking 3uz? As the 1uz vvti has the APS on the throttle body itself. I can get past the security and presently have 4 VVti uz's (2 1uz and 2 3uz) in the shop and only 2 early ones. Cheers
