V8 in an Mk3 supra?

I have a worn out engine in a 1988 mk3 supra. I was thinking of possibly
putting in a chevy small block and a 5 or 6 speed transmission. Is there a
v8 engine of any type like the toyota truck v8s or a lexus or even a land
rover v8. I am open to any solutions. Of course, the reasonable thing to
do is find a jdm engine and put it back in the engine bay and be done. But
as crazy car fanatics that we all are, I was hoping to do things a little
different.

There are many version of V8 engines you can put in your MKIII. The cheapest used crate motor would be from 90-94 Lexus LS400 or 92-96 SC400. These engines are known as 1uzfe. Tundra uses a larger displacement and its constructed with iron. The more advanced and slightly larger then the 1uzfe would be the SC430, GS430 and LS430 family engines. The 430 is known as 3uzfe.

Chevy 350 would be the cheapest for upgrades and dollar per hp. Chevy have greater aftermarket support. However, weight might be an issue. Most MKIII owners love the 1uzfe.
