Thermal Coat Heads

Hey Gang,

Got these pictures from Wayne. This is what he stated:
Got my heads back for the second time from Calico coatings...asked them thermal coat the chambers (valves have already been done) and exhaust ports. They did that and the intakes as well...didn't want them to do that as I wanted the aluminum heads to take a little heat out of the intake charge. Probably won't hurt anything, it will just keep a few degrees of unwanted heat. Hard to tell from the pics the difference between the coating and the aluminum, but easy to see in person. The only stuff I am missing at the moment is the fuel rail stuff...not stopping me from putting it back together at this point....but will need them in the not too distant future.

So coating it is a good idea as itll stop the head from heating up the intake air.

yes. because of the water jackets in the head.
