Tech Article By the Experts (Crown Wiring)

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
The article looks absolutely brilliant for wiring up a crown engine with the two computers. I also think that I can use some of the information ( especially fuel pump info) when I'm wiring up my two Lexus LS400 engines into the Cobra replicas.

Is there any chance of getting the same sort of article to help me and others wire up the LS 400 engine when we are keeping the Lexus engine and autobox as standard and transplanting the whole lot into a new chassis / vehicle etc.

It would be a great help to know where and how we need to wire into the ECU to get the engine and gearbox to run, and also where we can get signals for instruments such as Tacho, Speedometer etc. I've made up and installed looms on other projects but its the complexity of wiring issues with modern powerplants that gives me the headaches.............not the beer, honest !

Cheers,

Tony

Tony,

I can't help as my knowledge stops at the Crown wiring.

I've looked at the LS & SC wiring diagrams and it shouldn't be too hard.

We need one of the guys who's wired the LS to do a write up of how they went about it.

32 Ford plans to do the transmission write up for the Crown but it will be a while as he needs to get his finished and prove it works correctly before he can write it.

Speed sensors seem the biggest problem along with manual conversions on LS & SC's

My Soarer ECU didn't go into limp mode when it lost some speed sensors, it just wouldn't engage D or O/D.

SP2 (rear gearbox) wasn't hooked up, and SP1 (back of speedo) stopped working.
I still had full power, 1st and 2nd, but it would just go into neutral instead of D. So I just left the shifter in 2.

I still had the NCO input working though.

speed probs occur when people use the wrong gbox for the matching engine and ecu

there is many ways to get around the speed signals but no one wants to spend 500 bucks to hook them up if they have the wrong box

I think $500.00 in parts is most reasonable to complete the wiring of the engine and trans and have it drive correctly.

The question is can the "average Joe" buy the parts needed to make it all work?

500 is just for fixin speed signals to ecu
this includes parts

parts range from 100 or 200 or 300
there is 3 diff parts and depending what is done depends whats needed

You can buy digital speedo corrector boxes as a kit from Jaycar KC5380 $45 which will solve all the problems. Saves screwing around trying to fit different speedo sensors to the box.

i built a jaycar one but i could never figure it out

the one i sell can covert an inductive pickup to a hall effect pickup signal

not sure if jaycar ones do that as reading the paper work with the jaycar one u had to test this and that with the speedo and modify tyhe device to suit

anyway ill stick to the devices i lknow a sthe jaycar ones are too basic
