i've been trying to find products and info on modifiying the 1uz-fe (this is the best site so far, great job!!!), and there just arent too many products out there to make big hp without spending $10,000 to maybe gain 250hp. has anyone ever thought about doing a supra tt conversion, just for the simply fact that there are a ton of performance parts out there and you can get more hp for the $?? does anybody know where i can get more info on this or how much the conversion might cost? i appreciate any help and info, thanks!!

Yes, a LS400 was swap with a 2JZGTE and its still not running properly yet after 8 months. The physical conversion is easy, but getting everything working properly is a pain. Electrical componants, Gauges, Indicators, Sensors and even A/C control. Secondly, the conversion is not cheap either. We are talking about 10-12k for the conversion and that is just the base hp like 320 bhp and expect the car to be down for the next few months. If i have 10-12k would i do it? I would use that money and build a forged internal and run a huge single turbo in a 1uzfe.

yeah i was afraid that the electrical part of the swap might be a pain but i was just wondering if it would produce more hp for the money. by the way , lextreme do you have any idea (ballpark figure) how much your single turbo 1uzfe will produce??? and thanks for getting back to me so soon!!

I am NOT producing the Single turbo kit therefore i could not give u a qoute, but any single turbo would run about 5k.

Both Lextreme and my self have seen our friend Pete's LS300T in person and i for one was actully thinking of doing the swap but its just not worth the money and im glad i didnt go the 2J way. Pete's car is great, fantastic machine, sweet header and turbo, and if you want to pay the price sure you could do it. I would stick to working with the V8. Why down size to a 6? Be brave, be a pioneer in moding the 1UZ :) You will be glad you did.
