Hi, new to the site and new to these engines
Im putting a 1UZFE into a hotrod im building, im going to use a bulletcars.com supercharger kit, they use a Harrop HTV1900 charger with there own water to air intercooler, i want 550 Hp, what does anyone recommend for getting there.
I have thought twin turbo aswell but havent seen any kits available, prefer the supercharger though.
Suggestions on engine and about bullet would be great.IE bottom end stud kit, block o'ring'd, oil pumps, fuel pumps, head work.

Also, because i really never want it to fail, wats the best starter motor i can put on it?

Thanks

Welcome to Lextreme!

You'll probably lose around 60-80 HP driving the SC, so if you want 550 at the flywheel, suggest you aim, and size everything for around 650. That'll be in the neighborhood of 20-25 psi of boost, so you'll need to drop the compression, either the cheap way with thicker head gaskets, or the right way with a new set of forged pistons. And while you're at it, you should replace the wimpy OEM rods too.

The stock low overlap cams will work OK for supercharging, but the heads don't flow very well, so if budget permits, you should consider some porting, so the supercharger won't have to work so hard to help the engine make power.

Bigger injectors, of course, and there are lots of options for these. If you stay with the OEM fuel rails, you'll probably have to go with Japanese injectors, but if you ream the injector bungs out a bit, then you can go with Bosch, Siemens, etc.

You'll need either some big fuel pumps, or a single decent pump like the Bosch 044 or Supra (Denso) pump, driven by a variable speed controller like the Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump.

You might also consider a small Meth/Water injection setup to spray into the intake of the supercharger just to keep it cool. Several of us have had our SC's up to 20 psi and over, and they get pretty toasty at high boost.

JustenGT8 is your man for good advise on TT setups.

I would say all the things already mentioned, plus consider a cam change, however Justen has already made impressive power with a TT setup and a stock unopened motor. His only addition was race gas and a good water/methanol setup for chemical intercooling.

And IIRC, he's currently selling his TT setup, and he's right there in Oz. Might be a very good reason to go TT instead of supercharging?

As above how much fast do you want to spend?

Budget will determine the best package.

Starter motor is easy to recondition and when done should outlast the hotrod.

I have a Twin turbo kit for sale but shipping would be a bit exspensive.

Scott,
I could never get anyone to buy from you, maybe I'm not good in sales, but good luck. :D

Just out of curiosity, your sold M90 supercharger is in use by anyone? My friend is interested in a complete M90 setup for his LS400.

Sold it quite some time back, I think the guy is still trying to sell the complete car as a project.
