I don't want to put any ridiculous woofers in the trunk of my '91 LS400.. don't think I need to because the stock Nakamichi subwoofer thumps nice enough as it is, but is there any way to get a little more out of it? Has anyone converted to the 10" from the SC or later model LS400s? Or would an upgraded amp refine the bass quality?

Thanks,
BZ

i dont think you would get much more out of it if you put in the 10" sub from the SC becuase of the weak stock amp. The best way to do it is to put an aftermarket sub where the stock one is located and hook up an extra small amp. You should get some great bumping out of that.

my stock nakamichi 10" in my sc sounds awesome and clean, it is powered by an aftermarket amp. If you could find an original nakamichi 10 in good shape and rework your system to power it with an aftermarket amp it should be sufficient, i think it is a high quality unit, even by today's standards. Everyone who gets in the car compliments on the sound system.
