speedo drive/sender

Hi guys, quick one;

i have an 90-93 (i think) LS400 engine in my ute, ref build thread:

My question is, will the standard elec speedo sender drive an autometer speedo? Will it be easier to get a mech drive from another gearbox and run a mech speedo?

if so where can i get one?

You can use the standard sensor and see how it runs.

If need be use a frequency converter from some one like Jaycar to adjust the pulse rate to make it accurate.

I got the rear housing from an early asin a31 which came with a mech speedo. swapped out the output shaft and fitted the different rear housing. not sure what model the bit came from.

all toyotas have hall effect speedo signal

should work ok on those crappy over priced autometer junk hehe
