running vvti on std ecu without auto.

hi all, i,ve been looking at alll the 1uz swaps,

can,t see if anyone has managed to get,

1uz vvti running on the standard ecu with an r150f fitted.

seems that these were fiited with the one ecu that controls

both engine &trans and once you remove the auto and all related

sensors, the ecu isn,t happy .

probably go link later on but would like to get passed first with stock ecu.

only thing stopping me buying the vvti is this dilema

i,m located in newcastle nsw.

all advise much appreciated .

Simple answer is Yes

I have only done 5 so far with manual and by the end of the week it will be 6 (one more manual to wire this week) and 1 auto so far, two more autos to wire this week. Also done a few with link ECU. Cheers

thanks gloverman, have watched that vid recently,good stuff.

do you know if the 5spd auto will work ok if i used it.

found out they can be used in 4wd if adapted over.

much smoother than manual.

plus my r150f is silent so i might recoup some costs selling 3vze package.

I have one customer who has fitted a prado transfer onto his 5 speed. He is having a few issues but its due to be dropped down to me to sort some wiring so I will have more info once I have had a play with it.
I also have a auto sparkie friend who developed a 5 speed controler but it was kind of a one off and hes too busy to produce more.

does the 5 spd play up even when running the factory ecu?

is this because of extra sensors that you don,t get in a package?

I have never had an issue with the ones I have wired so would rather wait until I have checked this one out. I am expecting quite a bit of problem solving as the customer attempted the wiring himself and it worked for a little but now he has a list of problems including it now doesn't even start. Cheers
