R154 Shifter Location

Hi Guys,
do any of you know how far forward does the supra 1jzgte R154 shifter sits? i am debating on if i really need to have the shifter modified to work on my SC400.

i believe its 3-4 inches...but i dont know as far as seating and shifting position is this really bad or uncomfortable?

i don't care about the shifter hole since I have to cut out the holes anyways, but as far as seating and shifting position. how shitty is it?

You can modify the shifter position with factory parts. I have had the Soarer r154 fitted to my 1uz and the location was fine. I have now got a supra jza70 r154 and the parts to relocate that shifter position to the Soarer Genuine position , approx 2 inches further back.

how much was it in parts total?

i have a friend that would lengthen the shifter for me for $200

You would have to try your local dealer, it would be a similar amount at a guess. Mine was cheap, but i was lucky at the time.
