Oil pressure switch questions

Hey guys, with the standard oil pressure switch, does the ECU need to see the oil switch?
The reason why is that I have replaced it with a Mercruiser unit to suit the gauges in my boat. Will I need to put the standard one in line somewhere in the oil system for the engine to work?

will it trip the ECU master light , not seeing the oil switch or the O2 sensors?

Oil pressure switch does not go to the ECU so no problem there.
Early 1uz will be fine without O2 sensor although they do not run their best without them. The late ones will fault code.

What year is your motor?

tha nks for that...the motor was from a 91 soarer...

No problems there. The ECU is unlikely to bring up a check light with the oxygen sensors connected. Cheers
