oil filters

<P>im puting a 1uz in my hilux and a problem i have come across is that the oil filter hits on the chassie rail and im unable to un screw it. Instead of spending 200 bux on a relocation kit which is still about 70mm long when u have the 2 elbow bends for the oil lines on is there a smaller ( shorter ) filter u can use and if so will this effect filtering?</P>

Lextreme has a plate that can be threaded to suit the braided hose fittings, but you still need the relocating kit. I have just done this on mine.

There are smaller filters available to screw straight on for that conversion. I forget the part number but it is on Lextreme somewhere.
I think Sideshow used one.

Go to a mower shop and ask for a filter that screws on to Briggs and Stratton ride on mower. Fits perfectly. Just change it more often.

You could try a Fram PH2854 which i have used,its overall lenght is 65mm(2.5 inches)

The filter for a JZ (Supra/Soarer/Aristo/GS300 straight six) is shorter and the same fitting.
