Hi Guys,

Thought I might introduce myself to the fine bunch of enthusiasts here.
Just bought myself an 89 Celsior to play with and so far its way beyond what I expected. Everyone is amazed when I tell them its 17 years old.
First upgrade was forced due to a brake piston ceasing and turning my front left rotor purple. I was looking at doing the supra 4 pot upgrade but found some rotors and callipers from a 94 ls400. Still 2 pot callipers but bigger discs which should handle the heat a bit better.
Headunit has been replaced and sub+amp installed. The factory speakers were yet another pleasant surprise with the car. I’m yet to get rid of the stacker though.
Next on the cards is:
Power steering rack as its leaking – looking at a soarer model as they’re apparently more responsive.
Interior - not sure about a full re-trim due to $$$. Might just get some good seat covers for the time being.
Wheels – looking at some axis milano’s as they’re a little more subtle and I like the 5 spoke w/dish although a tad pricey.
And finally a little/lot more power. Definitely going for an aftermarket ecu, not sure as to which model yet though. I’ve always wanted a boosted v8 and now I’m determined to have one plus I’m already half way there, albeit the easiest half.

Also I’d like to say what a great forum you guys have going here, I’d be absolutely lost without it.

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks for the comments, haven't got any engine pics yet but there is nothing changed from standard. i'll be sure to post some when the mods start.

MR2 with a turbo V6 would be awesome but i think if i was going for broke (literally) i'd go for the S2000 and 1JZ combo. not sure how long i'd last in it though.

Just an update on the brakes, turns out standard rotors and callipers from a 94 celsior/ls400 don't play nice with the 89 model. the callipers are very similar if not identical but the actual calliper mounts on the car side have changed on the newer model. the rotors center hole is also about 1mm too big so the disc doesn't center on the hub. i ended up rebuilding the callipers and have some new rotors from toyota on the way so its back to standard brakes but at least they'll work and i can drive the car.
