Need info on V8 conversion PLEASE

Hi there everyone,

I am planning a new project, an engine conversion on my 95 E36 BMW.
I've decided to choose a 1UZ V8 (can get one for decent price).

I have seen a website where some guys put in a corvette v8 with a t56 6 speed gearbox, and it actually fitted in easier than expected with 13 inches to spare in front of the engine bay.

Can anybody pls give me some ideas of what manual transmission can be fitted on to 1UZ engine, and also any other info to help.

Most of the info you need is already on the site. The BMW is nice car for this V8 swap. What part of NZ are you in? I own a workshop in Hamilton and might be able to help with parts advice etc. Starting my own vehicle early next year. Presently doing a VG30DET into a D21 Navara. Work Number is (07)847 9969

Hi Paul.

I'm in auckland to and have just bolted a manual box to my 1uz for a hilux conversion. I used an adapter plate and custom fly wheel ,both are available locally.
Mine is 4wd but the bolt patterns for rwd supra boxs are the same.
If your interested in any parts give me a call, I know the guy that sells them.

Hi there

I am in Canada at present, but will be back in Auckland for Xmas. I have a Cobra (unfinished) with 1UZ that has a Supra W57 5 speed attached, in Auckland. I can show you how it is done if you'd like a look.
